Announcement of Housing Center in Yangming Campus (0816 draft)

August 17, 2021

Title: Health certificates required for moving into the dorms after September 3, 2021

Dear residents,

The risk of COVID-19 infection is still present in the community and dormitory living is a cluster type with a high risk of infection. In order to take precautions against the risk concerned, all residential students are required to present a valid health certificate at the time of check in for moving into the dormitories, starting on September 3, 2021. Also, parents and friends are not allowed to go into the dorms.

The University now initiates a plan, providing screening services free of charge to help residents to have a valid health certificate. Please cooperate with the following epidemic precautious measures.

  1. In accordance with the decision of the Board of Residence of the Yang Ming Campus on July 29, 2021, students who live in the dormitories in the 110th school year (including students moving in from another dormitory, moving into their original dormitories, or moving in from off-campus) must present one of the following valid health certificates at the time of check in for move-in.

  1. Proof of negative result about rapid antigen testing for COVID-19 within 3 days (see remark 1) issued by the University (This test is free of charge and the results are available soon after testing. All residents are welcome to use it.)

  1. Proof of negative result about PCR nucleic acid test or rapid antigen testing for COVID-19 within 3 days issued by hospitals or clinics (see remark 2)

  1. Proof of having had at least one dose of the NCCP vaccines for at least 14 days earlier (The University suggests these students to take the above antigen testing as well).

The above documents can be in the form of paper (original/photocopy) or electronic report (e.g. health insurance passbook).

  1. For international residential students, the University provides the following COVID-19 testing services free of charge. Online registration in advance is required.

2.1 The service is available at the sports ground down the hill from September 3 to September 5, between 9:00AM-12:00PM and between 1:30PM and 4:30PM.

  1. Online registration time: From August 17 to August 29 at 10:00PM.

  1. Registration website: https://rnd.ym.edu.tw/ymrd/as/Tool/ACTRegister.aspx?RegUkid=df606bd5-bc73-47df-8f8f-be89007bb7ea

  1. Important schedule for move-in and move-out

  1. All students who have no dorm bed for the coming academic year must move out of the dormitory before September 2.

  1. On September 3, by 9:30AM, all items left in the dormitory must be packed or placed in drawers or closets; desks, beds, and bookcases must be completely covered or empty.

  1. On September 3, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, the dormitories will all be cleaned and disinfected (the rooms included). During this period, personal access cards will have no function. Also, all residents must leave the dormitory and take with you your students IDs and cell phones and a valid health certificate, if having it.

  1. On September 3, dorm services will begin from 2PM for check-in and resuming the function of personal access cards.

Remark 1:

"Within 3 days" means that the "reporting date" of the test concerned is 3 working days before the check-in day, excluding national holidays and regular holidays. Assuming December 5 and December 6 are official holidays, a student who checks in on December 4 must present a valid certificate not earlier than December 1. If checking in on December 7 (because December 5 and 6 are official holidays), he or she must present a valid certificate not earlier than December 2.
